Levitra: The Forgotten ED Treatment
Viagra is popular because of its brand-name recognition as the first ever ED drug. Cialis is popular because it lasts for up to 36 hours and can be taken as a once-daily pill. Trailing behind these two ED drugs is Levitra, the ED treatment which often gets overlooked by millions of men. In many cases, these men may be passing over the best treatment option for their impotence.
In 2003, Levitra became the second ever FDA-approved impotence drug after Viagra. It probably would have become very popular too: Levitra lasts about an hour longer than Viagra and has shown to be more effective in many cases. But, not long after Levitra came out, Cialis hit the market. It didn't take long before marketing hyped up the "weekend pill" and men forgot about Levitra. Since Levitra is so similar to Viagra but doesn't have the brand recognition, men weren't very motivated to try it. Today, ED drugs are a $5 billion a year industry. Only Levitra hasn't broken the $1 billion/year mark in sales.
Bayer, the company which makes Levitra, is trying a new approach to get men interested in their ED drug. They have come out with a new, dissolvable version of Levitra known as Staxyn. Staxyn tablets get put into a glass of water where they then fizz and dissolve in a matter of seconds. Some evidence shows that Staxyn can work a bit faster than standard Levitra. In Europe, another new version of Levitra is coming out too. It is called Levitra ODT (orodispersible tablets). It is just like Staxyn, but it comes in a sleek black packaging which is about the size of a credit card. There are four tablets in a pack; you just discreetly slide out a pill and drop it into a glass of water.
Unless you really hate or have trouble swallowing pills, then there isn't much of a difference between Staxyn, Levitra ODT and standard Levitra. But these new marketing ploys are a good way of drawing attention back to Levitra. While Levitra doesn't have the brand recognition of Viagra and Cialis, it is virtually identical to the other ED drugs in terms of safety. There are some very important advantages of Levitra over Viagra and Cialis too.
When it comes to efficacy, studies show that Levitra gives the best results - especially in cases of impotence which are normally hard to treat, such as ED from diabetes. Levitra is also less likely to cause side certain side effects, such as headaches, upset stomach, and backache. If you are experiencing headaches or nausea from Viagra or Cialis, then you should try Levitra. You may not have any side effects with Levitra.
While Levitra cannot compare to the 36-hours of effectiveness that Cialis offers, not all men need a weekend pill. Levitra works for about 4-5 hours, which is an hour longer than Viagra. When you combine this edge with the reduce side effects and better results, Levitra becomes an ED drug which you shouldn't overlook.
